Associate Professor Dr. Azwadi Che Sidek

Associate Professor Dr. Azwadi Che Sidek was born in Kelantan, Malaysia on 23rd September 1977. Dr. Azwadi received B.Sc. (2001, Kumamoto Univ., Japan), M.Sc. (2003 UMIST, UK), and Ph.D. (2007, Keio Univ., Japan) degrees in Mechanical Engineering. Currently, he is a senior lecturer at the Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology, UTM. Dr. Nor Azwadi has published 387 indexed articles in SCOPUS/WOS with h-index 54 and 8386 citations. Among his excellent achievements are:

Ar. Khalid Sirat
Founder and Principal Architect of KHA Arkitek

Ar. Khalid Sirat was born in Seria, Brunei Darussalam on 19 April 1967. He received his BSc Architecture in 1991,MSc Architecture in 1992 and Post Graduates Diploma Architecture in 1993 all from University of East London,United Kingdom. He received a student award from British Steel during his final year degree. His MSc Architecture was on Computer and Aided Design. He obtained his corporate membership with Royal Institute of British Architect in 2001. He is an ASEAN Architect and was one of the senior and active members in the establishment and implementation of ASEAN Architect Council since 2006.

He has been practicing as Architect for almost 29 years. He was with Public Works Department Ministry of Development for 17 years. He did various nature of government projects. In 2009, he was involved in the computerization of Public Works Department with the implementation of Information Document Production System (IDPS) where the use of Revit software was first introduced. He was the founder and Principal Architect of KHA Arkitek and had been in private sector for almost 12 years.


Dzul Haimi bin Md Zain
PhD, Islamic Art Historian and critic

Biography

Dzul Haimi joined the University Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in 1979. He was appointed twice as the Dean of the Faculty of Art and Design, in 1990-92 and 2015-June 2018. Currently is a retired Professor in the field of Islamic Art History and critic. He graduated from The University of Edinburgh, Scotland (1996) under the tutelage of Professor Robert Hillenbrand. He had been awarded by the Sultan of Selangor with the Ahli Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (AIS) for his team’s contribution in the designing of his Majesty’s medals in conjunction with the coronation of the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah. During his tenure, he had graduated thirteen (13) PhDs and several master students. He has also authored and co-authored several articles and books on the subject of Islamic Art and Contemporary Malaysian Art, among those - “Nur al-Qur’an”(1999), “Art of Nusantara” in The Message & Monsoon, Islamic Art of Southeast Asia (2004), Ruang Syed Ahmad Jamal-75 (2004), “Qur’an Illumination” in Al-Qur’an, The Sacred Art of Revelation (2006), “Manifestasi Tulisan Jawi” (2006), “Ragam Hias al-Qur’an di Alam Melayu” (2006), “Pelukis dan Peristiwa: Syed Ahmad Jamal” (2008), and Syed Ahmad Jamal. Pelukis in Zagreb, Guru of Colour (2014). He was also the Chief Editor for the 7 volume books, Seni Kraft Malaysia, Jurnal seni Kraft 2023 and Apresiasi Seni Kraft, Institut Kraft Negara Malaysia 2024. He had curated many art exhibitions, both local as well as international. The most prestigious exhibition was for the Malaysia Art Laureate - Datuk Syed Ahmad Jamal and was graced by His Highness DYMM Yang DiPertuan Agung of Malaysia. Currently is actively engaged in many consultancy jobs, research, external examiners for postgraduates, and often being referred by the local art institutions and societies.
